Things that need to be abolished

My list of items that I think should be abolished:

- Fax machines
- Cheques (really… WHAT IS THE POINT)

- IT Helpdesks (ie can we just drop the price Apple Mac, and let everyone get on with owning one)
- Office buildings with windows that don’t open (WTF!)

Work-esteem?

Why is so much of our self esteem tied up in our job?

I’ve been a freelancer for almost a decade now. Being in between jobs is part and parcel of the lifestyle I’ve chosen.

Sounds glamorous. Sometimes.

Less office politics. Yes.

Always learning new things. Yes.

Adversity and soul

Australia is a harsh place. It has always felt harsh to me. The sun. The bush. The sea. Nothing about it is very gentle. From fires to drought to floods. Queensland is in disrepair. People losing loved ones. I’ve even stopped watching the news. ‘The bad news’ as my mum likes to call it.

So it is . . . → Read More: Adversity and soul

On not watching television

The other week I posted a spiel titled ‘A week without TV’. For those that are interested, I’d like to report back that my week without television was hugely successful. I did not watch television once.
