About me

Ever since I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a writer. When I was a little girl and my brother and I would playing grown ups, I’d grab a note book and pretend that I was an author. I wrote a romance novel as an English assignment in high school (I’m so bummed the book was misplaced in a house move). I’ve got a shed full of journals. I’ve got a manuscript in my bottom draw.

I love the satisfaction of telling a story through words. It’s the way I make sense of the world, and it helps me to know myself. It’s also how I escape from the world. A dive into the imagination. As a reader I love connecting with another persons thoughts or imagination.

For years I’d worry that I couldn’t say that I was a writer because I wasn’t being paid to write full time.

I’ve moved past that fear now. I write regularly so therefore I am a writer. That’s enough for me. I write because I love writing. Pure and simple. It feels good to say that.

What do you do? Do you draw or sing or dance or sew?
