It hasn’t been the easiest year, my dad passed away 7 weeks ago and another difficult challenge has presented itself to me. After a day spent freaking myself out with Dr Google, I decided to change tracks.
Time to cheer myself up. My wedding is on in less than 3 months. Today I think about wedding cakes. Here’s a selection of wedding cakes that range from plain pretty to a bit out-there-outrageous. They’re all vaguely linked by a 1950s theme. I don’t like all of the elements of every cake, but each cake has a feature or a style that I like .

Don’t like the colours, but I love the style of the cake in the bottom right hand corner.

The flower designs aren’t exactly what I’d choose, but I love the style.

So vintage, I love this green.

Be still my beating heart!

So classic, so cute.

I don’t like the colour, but still so cute.

The colours are too gaudy for a wedding cake, but if you reworked them in a different colour they could be gorgeous. I’d also ditch the butteflies.

Gorgeous flowers – all made from sugar.

This is just so cool, in a different colour with some daring flowers on top, it’d be perfect.
